While there are no direct, scheduled ferry services that depart specifically from the Palm Cove jetty to Green Island, it is very easy to make the trip. Most visitors take a quick 20-30 minute drive (or a shuttle bus) south to the Reid Park / Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns city. From there, several operators like Great Adventures run high-speed catamarans to Green Island multiple times a day, with the boat ride taking about 45 minutes. Some private charter tours or helicopter transfers may offer departures closer to the Northern Beaches (Palm Cove area), but these are significantly more expensive. If you are staying in Palm Cove, you can easily book a "Reef Connection" package that includes a pick-up from your hotel, transport to the Cairns wharf, and the ferry ticket to the island. Green Island itself is a beautiful coral cay where you can snorkel right off the beach, walk through the rainforest, or visit the Marineland Melanesia crocodile habitat, making it a perfect day trip.
