Can you have a car on campus MSU?

Cars. There are a limited number of lot 89 and lot 91 permits available for first-year students who wish to bring their own car to campus. Other vehicle permits are available to students who have at least 28 credits. Visit the MSU Parking Services website for purchasing and additional details.

It is recommended that visitors park at either lot 79, South of Spartan Stadium, or at lot 62 on the north side of the Stadium. These lots both allow all-day parking at a rate of approximately $2.00 per hour.

Student Storage parking is designed for students who bring their vehicles to campus, but do not need to use them frequently. Storage parking is available to all students, including freshmen and sophomores. Distribution is first come, first served.

All dormitory loops allow short term parking at meters or pay-by-plate spaces and require payment from 6am-Midnight. Dorm loops do NOT allow parking from 2am-6am. Shaw Lane Ramp #1 = Lot 51: basement of ramp only, no parking 2am-6am, payment required 7am-6pm, Monday - Friday.

Public parking is available in the lot next to Spartan Stadium south of the Library on Red Cedar Drive at Visitor Parking Lot 62. From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, the parking lots and spaces near the Library off Circle Drive are reserved for vehicles with faculty/staff parking permits.
