Can you keep the lightsaber at Disneyland?

If you are a daytime guest or staying at an off-site hotel, you can have your lightsaber held complimentary at several locations throughout Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, including Disneyland Resort Stroller Shop, Elias & Company in Disney California Adventure Park, or Pioneer Mercantile, Port Royal, and ...

Yes, if you build a custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the $249.99 (plus tax) price tag includes the experience and the physical lightsaber, which you take home with you. The package includes a "kyber crystal," a hilt of your choosing, a 31-inch blade, and a padded carrying case. If you purchase a "Legacy Lightsaber" from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, you also keep it, though the blade is often sold separately. Because these items are large and fragile, Disneyland and the airlines have specific protocols. You are allowed to carry your lightsaber through the park, and most airlines permit them as a "carry-on" item or a "personal item," as they are not considered weapons. If you do not want to carry it all day, you can use the "Package Pickup" service to have it sent to the front of the park or shipped directly to your home address for an additional fee, ensuring your expensive souvenir arrives safely without taking up space in your luggage.

While you may bring the full lightsaber into the theme parks, please know you'll be asked to stow it away safely to enjoy any attractions so your plan to just bring the hilt is a good one. Please send any other questions to planDisney with an incoming transmission, Eli.

This is one of the most popular Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge offerings at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and for good reason. It's not going to be something that everyone can afford to do in terms of time or money, but it's something we recommend as a splurge for those who can do it. You won't regret it.
