While you can keep your passport in a specialized "passport wallet," it is generally not recommended to keep it in your everyday pocket wallet. A standard wallet is designed for credit cards and cash, and a passport is too bulky for it; forcing it in can damage the electronic RFID chip or bend the covers, which might lead to issues at automated border gates. More importantly, keeping your passport, ID, and money in one place creates a single point of failure: if you lose your wallet or it is stolen, you have lost everything simultaneously. It is much safer to keep your passport in a secure, separate location—like an internal jacket pocket, a dedicated neck pouch, or the hotel safe—while carrying a photocopy or a digital scan in your wallet for daily ID needs while traveling.
