The number of Animal Kingdom characters available for meet and greets is less than you will find in other Disney Parks, but they still feature a few unique opportunities. In addition to the fab 5 you can also find some characters that are more animal related. The one thing you won't find much of here? Princesses.

Meeting Princesses in the Disney World Parks As you might expect, Magic Kingdom—the castle park—has the most princess greetings by a wide margin, with around 15.

At Magic Kingdom, catch the Frozen sisters at the castle show and parade. Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire stage show features a variety of characters including Anna, Elsa and Olaf.

A lot of this has to do with the fact that Animal Kingdom is home to many different animals that require care. This requires the park to close earlier than others so cast members can care for the animals and prepare for the next day.

While Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park is typically open from 8 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m., the hours of specific attractions are often different.

While Disney has found ways to extend the fun into the afternoon and evening hours, most of the animals viewed here are far more active, and therefore visible, in the morning. I strongly recommend you arrive at the park at opening time, or as soon afterwards as possible, to maximize your visit.
