The view on the Eurostar is a tale of two distinct halves. While the train is famous for the Channel Tunnel (Le Tunnel sous la Manche), you actually spend only about 20 to 35 minutes in total darkness while crossing under the English Channel. The rest of the 2-hour and 16-minute journey between London and Paris (or Brussels) offers beautiful views of the French and British countrysides. In the UK, you'll see the rolling North Downs of Kent and the Medway viaducts. Once you emerge from the tunnel in France, the train speeds through the flat, picturesque farmland and small villages of the Hauts-de-France region at 186 mph (300 km/h). While you won't see any "underwater fish" (a common joke), the high-speed transit through the rural landscapes is quite scenic. For the best views, try to book a window seat in the middle of a carriage to avoid the "pillar" views, and enjoy the rapid transition from the urban sprawl of London to the open fields of northern France.
