There are no bad spots in the area. There are some that are better than others though. Ask a local and they can give directions to the best drive to spots. As a very general rule, the beaches to the south of Mahahual tend to be a bit more reef protected, which means better snorkeling on rougher days.

Water can enter the snorkel and face mask in a variety of ways. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern. You can blow out the water through the snorkel if you feel any discomfort. If the face mask is full of water, you can tilt your head back to allow the water to drain out.
