Can you stay in Oahu without a car?

Absolutely no car is necessary. Oahu has a great bus system that runs regularly and pretty much on time so you can rely on it to get you places when you need to be there. I lived on Oahu for 3 years without a car and only got one because I got a job that required a lot of travel around the island.
