It's recommended to allow around at least three and a half hours. While you could rush round in less time if you're visiting with younger kids (or less committed fans), it's not a cheap day out so it's worth making the most of it. You can very easily spend longer too.
You can bring backpacks and snacks into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park areas of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, but you can't bring bags with you on most of the rides. The park offers free lockers for use during the ride, but there are a few things you should know.

Q: How much is the Butterbeer at Harry Potter World? You can purchase a cup of hot, cold or frozen butterbeer for $7.99 at either Harry Potter World. You can also purchase the frozen or cold butterbeer in a souvenir mug for $13.49.
Yes, it is possible to see both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in one day. You will need a one-day two-park ticket to experience all that the Wizarding World has to offer, since Diagon Alley is located in Universal Studios and Hogsmeade is located in Islands of Adventure.
There are sample seats outside of the ride that you can try. I'm a bigger person, and I just barely fit in the seats. This has been an issue for other guests too, and they actually offer some modified seats now.
