Not only are Basic Economy fares ineligible for all status upgrades, but you also cannot pay to upgrade to higher class. In fact, you can't even pay in advance for an Economy Plus seat. If they're available, you might be able to pay for one at check-in.
Economy Plus and upgrades: Travelers with Basic Economy fares are only eligible to purchase Economy Plus seating at check-in and are not eligible to purchase premium cabin upgrades, use their Economy Plus subscription benefits or purchase United Travel Options packages.

Find Out if an Upgrade is PossibleThe most straightforward way is to call and ask. While they won't give you specifics, most airlines will tell you if there are business class seats available, and whether economy is full. Another way to find out is by logging into the airline website with your booking number.
Delta Comfort+ and First Class customers will receive complimentary beer and wine service. Customers in Main Cabin may purchase alcohol by using tap-to-pay. Coffee, tea, Coca-Cola mini cans and juice will be available in all cabins.
No free checked baggage on domestic flights. Delta Comfort Plus baggage upgrades do not include a free checked bag on domestic flights, so you'll need to budget for this cost when choosing your seat. If you must check a bag, upgrade your flight to a higher class or purchase a checked bag online.
