Instead, Ride of the Resistance can be accessed either by a standby line or through Disney Genie+ as an Individual Lightning Lane selection.



As of late 2024, Disney retired the "Genie+" name and replaced it with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You cannot use the Multi Pass (the standard daily skip-the-line service) for the most popular Star Wars attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Instead, that ride requires a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass (an "a la carte" purchase) or a Lightning Lane Premier Pass. However, you can use the Multi Pass for the other major Star Wars attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, as well as the classic Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. In 2026, this tiered system remains the standard: if you want to experience Rise of the Resistance without a long standby wait, you must pay specifically for that individual ride or be staying at a select Disney resort that offers the Premier Pass. Smugglers Run is usually a "Tier 1" selection in the Multi Pass system at Hollywood Studios, meaning you can choose it as one of your three advance selections if you are staying on-site, or book it on the day of your visit if you are staying off-site.
