Can you walk from Terminal 3 to 4 Heathrow?

Terminal 4 (T4) is located at the south end of the airport and is not connected to another terminal with any direct walkways. Passengers must travel from T4 to other terminals via the airside connection bus or outside of the secure area by train or bus.

No, you cannot walk between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 at London Heathrow Airport (LHR). These terminals are located on different sides of the airfield; Terminals 2 and 3 are in the "Central Terminal Area," while Terminal 4 is located to the south. To travel between them in 2026, you must use the free shuttle trains (the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express) or the underground (Piccadilly Line). The journey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes including waiting time. If you are a "landside" passenger, you must tap an Oyster or Contactless card at the gates, but as long as you are traveling only between Heathrow terminals, no fare is charged. If you are an "airside" passenger (connecting between flights without clearing customs), you must follow the purple "Flight Connections" signs and take a dedicated shuttle bus that drives across the tarmac. Always allow at least 30 to 45 minutes for this transfer to account for security checks and transit intervals, especially during the busy 2026 summer travel season.
