Can you walk most places in Boston?

Boston is generally pretty safe. Just use the normal street smarts you would use anywhere. Most areas are okay day or evening, but the Doubletree can get a little sketchy later in the evenings, so do be careful. The areas around South Station, Park Plaza and most of the tourist areas are fine.
