Ground TransportationHistoric Visby is located just a short walk from the cruise port. If you prefer to explore on foot like I do, you are good to go. There are also a few other options.

The cruise port is not far from the city center so if you're up for a few hours walking I think you'll be fine walking from the port. It's roughly 1,2 miles to Visby Cathedral. Public transportation is not really an option so if you don't feel like walking taxi is the way to go. You arrive basically in the city center.
Can I stay onboard the ship while in port? Absolutely! Whatever the reason, you're in no way obligated to disembark a cruise ship while visiting a port of call.
