At Walt Disney World, children under the age of 3 do not require a theme park ticket or a park reservation. This means a two-year-old can enter any of the four major theme parks—Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom—completely for free. This "free entry" status remains valid until the child's third birthday; once they turn three, they must have a valid child-rate ticket (for ages 3-9). In addition to free admission, children under three can also eat for free at Disney’s buffet and "family-style" restaurants, where they are welcome to share from an adult's plate at no extra charge. If you are using the Disney Genie+ system, you do not need to purchase it for a two-year-old, as they simply accompany the adults in the Lightning Lane. While you are not required to provide proof of age (like a birth certificate) at the gate, it is helpful to have a digital copy on your phone just in case. This "under three" rule makes the toddler years one of the most cost-effective times to visit the resort before the significant jump in ticket and dining expenses.
