People, including those who are sleeping, are not allowed on the beach from 1-5 am. Parking in the City of Rehoboth Beach is by permit or meter payments only from May 15-September 15. Parking permits are enforced from 10am-5 pm, and meters are in effect from 10 am-10 pm.

Ocean City has a more extensive selection of accomodations, amusements, larger boardwalk, etc. It's much bigger with block after block of hi-rise mega hotels & condos. By contrast, Rehoboth has just a few hi-rise hotels but many B&B's & traditional cottages, some on wooded streets just a short walk from the ocean.

Yes it is a free beach. You have to pay for parking if you are not staying at one of the hotels or rentals. It is $15 for a day pass and there are some hourly. After 5 it is free Monday-Wednesday.
