Generally, celebrities do not get into Disneyland for free; however, their "Disney experience" is managed quite differently than the average guest. Most A-list stars pay for their own admission but are required by Disney to hire a Disney VIP Tour Guide (a "Plaid") for security and logistics. These private tours, which can cost upwards of $900 per hour with a 7-hour minimum, allow celebrities to enter attractions through back-door entrances and navigate the park with a dedicated escort to manage crowds. In some cases, if a celebrity is at the park for a promotional event, a film premiere, or as part of a collaboration with the company, Disney may provide a "comp" (complimentary) admission and tour as part of their contract. For the most part, though, Hollywood's elite pay full price for the privilege of a private, expedited experience. Interestingly, in 2026, Disney has introduced a "Summer Water Park Benefit" for all on-site resort guests, but even the biggest stars still have to wait for the same seasonal perks as everyone else unless they are there on official company business.
