Yes, several major attractions in the Fantasyland and Toontown areas of Disneyland Park do close temporarily during the fireworks spectacular. Because the fireworks shells are launched from a "fallout zone" directly behind Mickey’s Toontown, safety regulations require these areas to be cleared of guests before the show begins. Typically, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and most of Fantasyland (including the Matterhorn Bobsleds, "it's a small world," and the Storybook Land Canal Boats) will close about 30 to 60 minutes before the fireworks are scheduled to start. These rides usually remain closed for the duration of the show and for a short period afterward until the fire marshal gives the "all-clear" that no debris or unexploded shells remain on the tracks. Interestingly, this is often a "secret" strategy for savvy guests: if you wait near the entrance of these attractions just as the fireworks end, you can often be among the first to ride with almost no wait once they reopen. Most other attractions in Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Frontierland remain fully operational throughout the performance.
