While there are lockers at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, they're not quite big enough to store your luggage for the day. You would definitely need to leave those bags with Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, make a splash at the water park, and then head back to grab them.
You're going to need wet bags, dry bags, backpacks, beach bags — you need all the bags. Plus, some packable towels, sunscreen galore, rash guards, hats, water shoes, backup clothes and a few additional “musts” that will ensure your water park experience is smooth sailing.
You'll be going down water slides, body surfing waves in wave pools, and possibly chasing your young children around the kiddie areas. For this reason, avoid wearing flimsy bikinis. This helps prevent any accidental flashing incidents or the possibility of losing your bikini top or bottom on a slide or in a pool area.
Don't be tempted to walk around barefoot – if any rides or areas do not allow water shoes, take them off only in those areas and then put water shoes right back on. Before going to the park, make sure everyone's feet are washed and cleaned.
Towel rental costs about $2, but guests are also permitted to bring their own towels. Lockers are also available for rental, and cost between $10 and $15 per day, depending on size. Typhoon Lagoon also makes umbrellas available for rent, as well as private cabana-style structures known as Beachcomber Shacks.
Rhonda, you are allowed to wear water shoes at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. For most all attractions there, you'll even be able to wear them down the water slides. Do make sure they are true water shoes, however, as flip flops are not permitted on the water slides themselves.
You can pack breakfast, lunch and snacks as long as there is no loose ice, no glass containers, and no alcoholic beverages inside. All containers are subject to search by Cast Members. Typhoon Lagoon and the weatherThe water at Typhoon Lagoon is heated, making the park a good choice to visit during most days of the year; however, during inclement weather or if an extended bout of cold temperatures are predicted, Disney will close the water parks.
While showers are available, there are no hair dryers at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. To complete your fairy tale beauty routine, you must head to your Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel (or other hotel accommodations).
Simply head over to the towel rental stand to pick them up once you arrive or at any time during your visit. If you happen to rent a Beachcomber Shack, you will find the towels waiting in your cabana once you locate it.
