Do I have to check in each person individually for Southwest?

You have the option to either check in the entire Group or select specific Passengers. The names of successfully checked in Passengers along with their boarding positions will begin to populate on the screen one at a time.

No, you do not necessarily have to check in each person one by one if they are all on the same reservation. On the Southwest Airlines website or mobile app, when you enter the confirmation number and the name of just one passenger from the itinerary, the system will typically pull up all travelers associated with that booking. You can then select all eligible passengers and check them in simultaneously with a single click. This is a critical strategy for Southwest, as your boarding position (A, B, or C group) is determined by the exact time you check in. By checking everyone in at once exactly 24 hours before departure, you ensure the entire group receives sequential or nearby boarding numbers. Note that if group members are on separate confirmation numbers, you will indeed need to perform the check-in process individually for each distinct reservation.
