Do I need MagicBand for Genie?

You may be hoppy to know that using a MagicBand is completely optional. You can continue to use your phone to scan your ticket into the park and to redeem your Lightning Lanes with Genie+. The MagicBand is simply a convenience that helps you avoid having to pull out your phone all the time.

What's the 120 minute rule? The way Genie+ ride reservations work is that you can book one at a time, and can either make another selection after two hours (120 minutes) or once you tap into your previous Genie+ selection (both tapstiles at attractions that have two)—whichever comes first.

However, this is an average, and as long as you stay within the guidelines I mentioned above, you are good to go!

You can purchase Genie+ day by day on each day of your trip using the My Disney Experience app. Genie+ is available for purchase when the clock strikes midnight on the day of your visit, but you don't need to stay up late (instead, just wake up about 15 minutes early to secure it before the 7 a.m. selection process).
