At Walt Disney World and Disneyland, children under the age of 3 (specifically age 2 and younger) can eat for free at all buffet and "family-style" (all-you-care-to-enjoy) restaurants. At these locations, such as Chef Mickey's or Liberty Tree Tavern, the child is welcome to eat off their parent's plate or even have their own small portion of the communal food brought to the table at no extra charge. However, at "A La Carte" or "Quick Service" locations where you order individual entrees from a menu, you will be charged if you order a specific meal for the child. Most parents of toddlers simply share their own meal with the child at these locations. It is important to note that for 2026, Disney has introduced special "Kids Eat Free" dining plan promotions for children aged 3–9 on certain vacation packages, but for the "under 3" crowd, the "share-for-free" rule at buffets remains the standard year-round perk.
