Yes, Disneyland Resort maintains a comprehensive, high-fidelity security screening process for all guests entering the theme parks and the Downtown Disney District. As of 2026, the process typically involves walking through advanced "open" scanners (Evolv technology) that can detect metallic and non-metallic threats without requiring you to stop or remove items from your bag. However, if the scanner flags an anomaly, security officers will perform a manual bag check and a secondary screening with a metal detector. Uniformed police officers and specially trained K-9 units also patrol the security perimeters. To ensure a high-fidelity and efficient entry, Disney recommends having all zippers open and ready if a manual check is requested. Prohibited items like glass containers, folding chairs, and "selfie sticks" are strictly enforced.
