Bedroom outlets are definitely 3-pronged, as are many others throughout most trains. But they can be scarce in most Superliner coach cars, with only a few spread about. Often the best solution can be hanging out in the lounge and charging gear there.

I wouldn't take the laptop charger too seriously; it will undoubtedly work with other low power appliances too. My guess is that laptops require more power to function vs a cell phone device.
