What meals you get depends upon what time you take off and what time you land. If it is an overnight flight you will get a dinner and a breakfast. They will serve dinner even on flights that leave late in the evening and then give passengers a break to sleep before serving breakfast.

For many airports, the most busy time of operation is during the workday (between 8 am and 5 pm). Crowds often begin tapering off around 6 pm with some of the least busy times being in the late evening.
