Do you have to pay to go to Paradise Beach Cozumel?

The à la carte option requires a $10 usd entry fee and a $10 usd minimum consumption per person. It includes access to our main facilities and lounge chairs. The Fun Pass is available for $18 usd. This option is not always available due to capacity restrictions.

There's no entrance fee to the beach itself. If you want to use one of the beach clubs facilities, or access the cenotes at the north end on private property there are some nominal fees but as long as you use the public access' to the beach it's all free.

Yes, you can just walk around, or at worst take a short taxi ride. IIRC there's more than one pier, so it depends on which one your ship docks at, but there's plenty of shopping and places to stop and get an overpriced margarita - Senor Frog's probably being one of the most well known.

Cozumel's west coast (the side facing Playa del Carmen) has calmer beaches and better snorkeling (the coral is protected from the waves, so it can thrive). The cruise ship ports are on this side, and folks coming in for the day on cruises tend to stay nearby, so the beaches closest to the port tend to be more crowded.
