Do you have to tip for room service on Disney Cruise?

The amount you tip is at your discretion. If you're looking for a rule of thumb, start with $1 per item ordered or $2-3 per person and go up from there. On a recent cruise on the Dream, my daughter and I ordered room service continental breakfast of coffee, fruit, and cereal. We tipped $5.

On a Disney Cruise in 2026, room service is complimentary (included in your fare), but it is a standard and highly recommended etiquette to provide a small cash tip to the crew member who delivers your food. Unlike the "standard gratuities" for your dining room servers and stateroom host (which are automatically charged to your account at roughly $14.50 per person, per day), room service delivery is not included in that pool. Because the food itself is "free," a tip of $2 to $5 per delivery is considered generous and appropriate. You can hand this to the delivery person in cash (USD), or you can sometimes add it to the printed receipt you sign, which will then be charged to your onboard account. In 2026, many seasoned DCL travelers bring a stack of $1 and $5 bills specifically for this purpose. It is also worth noting that while "Standard" room service is free, certain premium items like "Canned Soda" or "Mickey Premium Bars" ordered through room service might incur a small charge, but the "All-Hands-On-Deck" cheese platter and the "Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies" remain the beloved, free midnight snacks of the Disney fleet.
