Winters are colder, with foggy days and some rain, so full wetsuits plus booties are appropriate, especially if you will be surfing the shallow reef breaks. Southern Spain has a semi-arid climate with sunny days and warmer temperatures. In summer you won't need a wetsuit, and in winter a light wetsuit will do.
