Non-Singapore Residents tickets are valid for international visitors or those who don't have Singapore passports or permanent residence permits. While the Singapore Residents tickets are only valid for Singaporeans, i.e Singapore passport holders or permanent residents.
If you have the Express Pass, you can easily get everything done in a single day. I recommend buying the Express Pass to maximize your one day at the park (it's doable without, but more on that later). I'd only recommend two days (or 1.5 days) if you are visiting during a busy period.
