Do you need virtual queue for ratatouille?

? Starting Jan. 10, the all-new attraction, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, will no longer use a virtual queue, Walt Disney World announced Thursday. The attraction at EPCOT has been using a virtual queue system since its opening during Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary on Oct. 1.

As of 2026, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT does not typically require a virtual queue. The ride transitioned to a standard standby line in early 2022, and this remains the default way to experience the attraction. Guests can also purchase a "Lightning Lane Multi Pass" (formerly Genie+) to skip the wait, as it is one of the most popular family-friendly attractions in the France pavilion. However, Disney reserves the right to reinstate the Virtual Queue system—accessible via the My Disney Experience app—during exceptionally high-capacity periods like the opening of new festivals or the peak Christmas-to-New-Year week. If a virtual queue is active during your visit, you would need to join at exactly 7:00 AM or 1:00 PM via the app. For the vast majority of 2026 dates, you can simply walk up to the entrance and join the physical queue, which often ranges from 45 to 90 minutes.
