Yes, Amtrak offers complimentary drinks, but the availability depends strictly on your class of service. For Business Class passengers on most routes, a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage (water, soda, or juice) is included, and on some "Pacific Surfliner" routes, this may include snacks and coffee. For those in First Class (available on the Acela) or those traveling in Private Rooms (Sleepers) on long-distance trains, all meals and a wider range of beverages are complimentary, including one alcoholic drink with dinner. In 2026, Amtrak has enhanced its dining service, so "Sleeper" guests have access to unlimited coffee, tea, and juice throughout the journey. Passengers in "Coach" class, however, do not receive any complimentary drinks and must purchase all items from the Café Car, where a selection of snacks, hot meals, and beverages (including craft beer and wine) is available for sale.
