Does Avis take virtual cards?

Can I rent a car with a virtual credit card? Difficult to say in general, but with mainstream providers e.g. Hertz, Avis…, not at all - actually they do not except debit cards either. Problem is that virtual cc's are usually prepaid or electronic e.g. Visa Electron circuit, and could also be anonymous.
