Does Blizzard Beach have a pool?

Disney's Blizzard Beach is a water theme park located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida near Orlando. All water areas are heated, with the exception of the melting snow in the ice cave of Cross Country Creek. The park opened on April 1, 1995 and was the third Walt Disney World water park.

Yes, Disney’s Blizzard Beach features a massive "one-acre" wave pool known as Melt-Away Bay. This heated pool is the heart of the park and mirrors the "melting snow" theme of Mount Gushmore. Unlike a traditional swimming pool, it features gentle, lapping waves that are designed for relaxation rather than intense surfing, making it accessible for all heights and ages. For younger children, the Tike’s Peak area features wading pools and splash zones specifically designed for those under 48 inches tall. Additionally, the Cross Country Creek lazy river functions as a continuous, 3,000-foot moving pool that circles the entire park. While Blizzard Beach is famous for its high-adrenaline slides like Summit Plummet, Melt-Away Bay serves as the primary "home base" where guests can swim out to rocky outcrops, stand under waterfalls, or simply float in the azure water. In 2026, it remains a favorite for families because the sandy white beach surrounding the pool offers hundreds of lounge chairs for a "day at the beach" experience within the Walt Disney World Resort.

Where Blizzard Beach excels more than Typhoon Lagoon is in its slide and raft ride lineup. Blizzard Beach inarguably has better slides and raft rides than Typhoon Lagoon. Its lineup is much more diverse, with slides ranging from family friendly racers to the intense (and scary even for adults like me!) Summit Plummet.
