Does British Airways serve afternoon tea?

During your flight you can choose from snacks, plus hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, all delivered to your seat. Our signature afternoon tea features on some routes.

Yes, British Airways continues to serve its signature afternoon tea in 2026, primarily as a staple in its Club Europe (Short-haul Business Class) and Club World (Long-haul Business Class) cabins. For flights departing between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, passengers are treated to a quintessentially British spread featuring finger sandwiches (such as smoked salmon or roast beef), warm scones, and—crucially—clotted cream and strawberry jam. While there were brief supply-chain scares in late 2025 that led to "cream-less" scones, BA has fully restored the service in early 2026. In First Class, the experience is even more elevated, served on bone china with a wider selection of artisanal teas. While Economy (Euro Traveller) passengers typically only receive a light snack or buy-on-board options, the afternoon tea remains the "jewel in the crown" of BA's mid-day premium service.
