Does British Airways serve peanuts?

We offer a low gluten meal that excludes wheat, wheat flour, barley oats, rye, bread, cakes (unless wheat-free), pastry, sausages or any flour-based products. Our in-flight meals do not contain peanuts or peanut products.

As of early 2026, British Airways maintains a strict "no peanut" snack policy in its cabins, but they do not guarantee a 100% nut-free environment. While they have removed peanuts from their complimentary snack service, other tree nuts (like cashews or almonds) may still be served or included in meals. For travelers with severe allergies, British Airways is considered highly accommodating; you can request a "nut-free buffer zone" by informing the cabin crew upon boarding. They will typically make an announcement asking passengers in nearby rows to refrain from eating nut products. For a high-value 2026 experience, it is a "pro-move" to document your allergy in your booking via their MEDA (medical) desk and carry your own safe snacks, as the airline cannot control what other passengers bring onboard or guarantee the absence of trace allergens in their catering facilities.
