Does Carnival still have lobster night?

As of 2023, lobster night in the main dining room (MDR) switched from the 1st elegant night to the 2nd elegant night. I've been trying to figuratively climb into the heads of the “beards” (as John Heald, Carnival's Brand Ambassador, calls them) at Carnival to figure out how this change saves the line money.

Servers would sometimes even go around the dining room bringing them to passengers before they even asked for one. Now, under the new rules, passengers who want a second lobster tail (and any after that) will pay $16.99 plus an 18% gratuity for each one they ask for.
