Does Clear work with international flights?

Global Entry expedites your return to the U.S. after international travel while Clear helps you skip the ID check at TSA security lines before domestic or international flights. Clear verifies your identity via a fingerprint or an eye scan.

Yes, Clear (CLEAR+) works with international flights in 2026, but only for the departure phase from the United States. As of early 2026, Clear is available at over 60 major U.S. airports, where it allows you to skip the long ID-verification line and go straight to physical screening. A major 2026 update is that Clear has expanded enrollment to citizens of 40 different countries (including Canada, UK, and much of Europe), allowing international travelers with valid passports to use the system when flying out of the U.S. However, Clear does not assist with the entry process into the U.S. or other countries; for that, you still need Global Entry or Mobile Passport Control. While Clear simplifies the security process for any flight leaving a participating U.S. hub, it is not currently a "universal" system used for immigration or security in foreign airports outside of North America.

MORE DETAILS
