Does Disney still do the pin swap?

With the rise of COVID-19, we saw a major change in the way we pin trade. Cast members no longer wore pin trading lanyards. Instead, a pin board could be found in most lands of the parks. As we leave 2022 and enter 2023, pin trading is again changing.

November 9, 2023, 2:08 PM. Disneyland is moving to restrict professional pin traders working inside its theme parks. For years, pin traders have set up large pin boards on benches in Frontierland, with occasional forays into Disney California Adventure, as well.

The complimentary celebration buttons (pins) are so cute! I still have the First Visit buttons from the first time each of my kids visited our happy place. They can be requested at the Front Desk of Disney Resorts Collection hotels, as well as Guest Relations and many merchandise locations in the theme parks.

They are usually given to Cast Members to use for pin trading with park guests. They are called Hidden Mickey pins because they each contain a small silhouette of Mickey Mouse somewhere in the design. Although they aren't typically sold in stores, they are genuine Disney products.

Pixie dusting is where a Cast Member asks you to close your eyes, make a wish, and then they us a magic wand to sprinkle you with pixie dust while wishing that all your dreams come true. Over at Sir Mickey's gift shop in Fantasyland (just behind Cinderella Castle), this experience has been offered for quite some time.

After your proposal, please visit any Disney gift shop at the parks to pick up a complimentary “Just engaged” button. Mickey and his friends will be so happy to celebrate you both as you enjoy the rest of your visit!
