The visible security measures at our theme parks and resort hotels include the presence of uniformed police officers, using specially trained hazard detection canines to help patrol our parks and resorts, bag checks at our theme park entrances and security kiosks at our resort hotels.
The new scanners are provided by Evolv Technology. Guests simply walk through it, and security officers can see if a guest has a weapon on them. The scanners are able to distinguish between weapons and personal items, such as a phone.
Any bag larger than 24? long x 15? wide x 18? high is not allowed per Disney's bag policy. Small coolers are allowed, but you need to use a reusable ice pack, as you can't bring dry ice or loose ice into the park.
If you're caught shoplifting at Disneyland, security personnel will detain you and take you to a private area. Once there, they will question you about the stolen merchandise. They will also confiscate any park tickets you possess and expel you from the premises.
Weapons are not limited to things that look like guns. As already mentioned, rocks are considered weapons. You can't bring a knife with you into the parks, even if it's just a pocketknife. Why are the fingerprints necessary? In Disney's words, “We offer the convenience of Ticket Tag at the entrance of many of our theme parks and water parks. Ticket Tag helps to facilitate ease of re-entry into our parks and helps prevent fraud.” They refer to it as a convenience and a fraud prevention measure.
However, a Cast Member at the security checkpoint may ask to open your bottle to check its contents, since metal water bottles are opaque. Just keep in mind that alcoholic beverages and glass containers aren't allowed inside the Disneyland Resort, as stated in the Rules.
The number of fights and amount of theft inside Disney keeps rising, forcing Disney to take a fresh approach to security, in the form of snipers on the roof. The rooftop snipers will be mostly hidden from view, however, if you look closely, you will likely be able to spot a sniper inside Disney World parks.
Guests are allowed to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverage items into the park for self-consumption, provided they are not in glass containers and do not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control and do not have pungent odors.
Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. Ensuring that the parks are family-friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense.
