Reservations are no longer required for your visit to Dollywood Parks and Resorts. Any existing reservations will be honored.
As for the rush through the gate, we often see crowds from around 10 a.m. until about noon. The secret is to arrive early so you can be in line before that rush. Or, wait until early afternoon so you can capitalize on playtime while a lot of folks are looking for lunch.
While going to Dollywood in the low season is ideal, visiting on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday during summer is the best way to dodge crowds and long lines.

“Do you need to buy the tickets to Dollywood ahead of time or can you buy them the day of going at the gate?” You can buy the tickets either online ahead of time or up front, but there's one deal that shouldn't be passed, if you've arrived in Pigeon Forge at the right time.
If you want to visit on a weekend, Sundays tend to be a travel day for a lot of people.That may be a better option to visit Dollywood than a Saturday. Also, pay attention to the natural park flow. Most people enter the turnstiles and go right.
There's so much to see and do at Dollywood. Since you'll likely be there all day (or two), a backpack is probably one of the best bags to bring if you must bring something. Better than a purse, carrying a bag on your back will keep you hands-free and give you an extra place to store your beverage, keys and keepsakes.
Dollywood is closed for the off-season. With the way the calendar falls this year, that means our teams have 67 days to reset and ready the park for another great year of operation. Dollywood re-opens March 11 (March 10 for Season Passholders).
Tickets and airfareFor people aged 10 to 61, a one-day Dollywood ticket costs $89. Kids aged 3 and under can enter the park for free, while those aged 4 to 9, plus seniors 62 and over, get a discount of 10 silver dollars, making their tickets $79.
Dollywood is a large theme park, but perhaps more importantly, a very hilly theme park. If you have even moderate mobility issues, you might be intimidated.
