As far as physical thrills go, Gringotts falls somewhere between Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain, with only one short (albeit unique) drop and no upside-down flips.

Escape from Gringotts does have some mild drops and coaster elements. As I mentioned before, these segments are made much more intense by the dark (think Space Mountain and Cosmic Rewind) but don't actually do anything crazy.

Despite pre-ride warnings about high-speed thrills, Escape from Gringotts is a family coaster that most visitors, other than those with excessive scaredy-cat tendencies, should be able to tolerate and enjoy. It is most certainly not too scary for children.
One of my favorites at Universal. The queue is amazing, and the ride is so thrilling. I love that this is a mix of a coaster but has various other effects as well. Even non-Harry Potter fans can appreciate this ride.

It is a spooky/scary queue and coaster which makes it really cool and omnious which will build suspense, don't let it deter you! You can absolutely, 100% ride the Mummy if you enjoy Hagrids and Gringotts and I would highly recommend you do.

Keep the Kids in MindAlthough there aren't specific age limits to ride the VelociCoaster, there are height limits. If your children are under 4 foot 3 inches, they won't be able to go on the ride. Fortunately, there is a waiting space for the children to watch as the adults speed down and around the tracks.
