This is a common point of confusion: Eurail does not "include" ItaliaRail, because they are two different types of entities. Eurail is a rail pass that provides unlimited travel (on a set number of days) across the national rail networks of 33 countries, including Italy's state-owned Trenitalia. ItaliaRail, on the other hand, is a leading online travel agency and booking platform that specializes in selling individual point-to-point tickets and reservations for Italian trains. While you can buy a Eurail Italy Pass through the ItaliaRail website, the pass itself is a product of the Eurail Group. If you have a Eurail pass, you can use it on almost all Trenitalia trains (including the high-speed Frecciarossa), but you will still need to pay a separate seat reservation fee (usually €10–€13) for those fast trains. Crucially, Eurail does not cover the private high-speed operator Italo; tickets for Italo trains must be purchased separately through platforms like ItaliaRail or the Italo website itself.
