Does Florida resident have to be present for Disney tickets?

All Guests planning on using a Florida Resident ticket will need to show valid proof of residency to activate their ticket if they are over the age of 18. For any Guests who are under the age of 18, they will need to have a guardian present to show their proof of residency in order to activate their tickets.

Yes, if you are using a Florida Resident ticket or pass, the resident must be present at the time of ticket activation and must provide a valid proof of Florida residency. This is strictly enforced at Walt Disney World to prevent the unauthorized use of discounted local rates by non-residents. Acceptable documents include a valid Florida driver’s license, a Florida state-issued ID card, or a Florida military ID. If you do not have those, you can provide a combination of a photo ID and proof of residency such as a utility bill, bank statement, or mortgage statement issued within the last 30 days. However, once the tickets are activated and linked to the individual guests in the "My Disney Experience" app, the resident does not necessarily have to stay with the group for every single entry on subsequent days, but they must be the one to verify the residency during the initial visit to the ticket window or Guest Relations.
