There are no big drops. The coaster is in the dark and you can't see the track at all times. There's a backward launch and LOTS of speed.

The new Guardians ride is a roller coaster, and not just any roller coaster. One of the big features of the ride is a unique ride vehicle that allows for 360-degree motion and reverse launches.
It is a bouncing that does bring you out of your seat as you drop (lap belts should be tightened to help minimize this movement). Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is absolutely a scary ride and just may be too scary for some kids.

In most cases, guests who have been late to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind have been allowed to ride after scanning their park ticket at the attraction's entrance. Though this may not be the case for every day, especially during the parks' busy seasons.

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic RewindThe photo on this ride occurs toward the beginning of the ride. It happens after the reverse launch, as you begin to spin back around to face forward. If you look up and to the right slightly, you will see several suns. You will notice a flash as they snap your photo!
Depends on how you characterize intensity. Everest it's more bumpy and jerky, with stronger physical forces exerted. Guardians is much smoother, but much more disorienting in the dark with the screens and spinning. Guardians is more intense BY FAR.
And like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, you'll get a rock-and-roll soundtrack during your ride. Songs include A Flock of Seagulls' I Ran, Blondie's One Way or Another, and Earth, Wind, and Fire's September. The ride ends with the Guardians' mission succeeding. The whole on-board ride experience takes just under 3 minutes.
How scary/thrilling it is compared to other Walt Disney World rides? It is one of the most thrilling rides at Walt Disney World — it's a step above Space Mountain, but not as intense as Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.
GOTG is an awesome ride and not as intense as RNRC; however, the spinning non-sense on GOTG makes me want to vomit. No other ride makes me feel that way. I love RNRC, but I need Dramamine to do GOTG.
