Does it cost money to take pictures with characters at Disney?
If you want the photo you'll need to pay for it, of course, but there is absolutely no cost to have them take your picture. And they still are happy to take your picture with your own camera, if you ask, and there is NEVER any cost for that.

I'm very happy to report that you're more than welcome to use your smartphone or personal camera to take pictures with the characters at the Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, I do it all the time!

All of your account information is linked together. PhotoPass photographers will scan either your MagicBand, Disney PhotoPass card, theme park ticket, or Annual Pass. You can also access a QR code they can scan in the My Disney Experience App.
