The wet season in the Bahamas runs from May to October. You'll need a waterproof layer as the showers are likely to be heavy, even though they bring a refreshing feel to the climate. Islands in the north of the Bahamas, close to Florida, usually have a bit more wind and rain than those in the south in July.

Do not swim in the ocean during or immediately following rainfall. To further reduce risk of illness, wait at least 12 hours after a heavy rain to resume swimming.
