Your American Express card only grants you access to the Delta Sky Club lounge if you hold a specific premium card, such as the The Platinum Card® from American Express or the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card. As of 2026, the rules for access have become more restrictive: Platinum Card members are generally limited to 10 visits per year (unless they spend over $75,000 annually for unlimited access), while Delta Reserve members receive 15 visits. To enter, you must be flying on a same-day Delta-operated or Delta-marketed flight. It is a common misconception that all "Gold" or "Amex" cards include this perk; the standard Amex Gold and Delta Gold cards do not provide Sky Club access. Additionally, you cannot access the lounge if you are flying on a "Basic Economy" ticket, regardless of which card you hold. When you arrive at the lounge, you simply scan your boarding pass; if your eligible card is linked to your Delta profile, the system will recognize your "Visit" allowance. If you have used up your visits, you may be able to purchase additional entry for $50 per person, provided space is available.
