Odyssey of the Seas features a unique pool configuration that differs from its sister ships in the Quantum Ultra Class. While it does not have a traditional "retractable roof" over the main family pool area, it does boast the Solarium, an expansive, glass-enclosed, climate-controlled sanctuary at the front of the ship. This area includes tiered swimming pools, whirlpools, and cascading lagoons, though it is strictly reserved for adults (ages 16 and older). For families and younger guests, the main pool deck (Deck 14) remains entirely outdoors and open to the elements. This design choice makes the ship particularly popular for warm-weather sailings in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, but it means there is no dedicated indoor swimming option for children or families during colder sea days. Instead, the ship offers the "SeaPlex," a massive indoor sports complex that provides year-round entertainment like bumper cars and sports without requiring guests to face the wind or rain outside.
