OMNY is our contactless payment system. You'll pay the same base fare — $2.90 — and still get free transfers. Plus, you get free rides after 12 fares within seven days using the same device or contactless card. There's also an option for Reduced-Fare customers.

Since MetroCards are still available until the end of 2024, so until then, it may not be worth buying an OMNY card, which costs $4 more than a MetroCard.
