Does Rise of the Resistance still have a virtual queue?

I hope you are finding all of the golden Disney Fab 50 Character Collection statues at the theme parks. Look for Nemo and Dory to the right of the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance no longer uses the virtual queue system.

As of 2026, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance no longer utilizes a daily virtual queue system for standard operations. When the attraction first opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park, it famously required guests to join a "boarding group" via the mobile app. However, in late 2021, Disney transitioned the ride to a traditional standby line, allowing guests to walk up and wait at any time during the day. While the virtual queue is currently retired for this specific ride, it may still be implemented during exceptionally high-demand events or if the attraction experiences significant technical changes. For most visitors, the primary ways to experience the ride now are by waiting in the standby queue (which can often exceed 100 minutes) or by purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass to bypass the wait. Disney still uses virtual queues for its newest attractions, such as Tiana's Bayou Adventure or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, so it is always wise to check the latest status in the My Disney Experience or Disneyland app on the morning of your visit.
